How We Work

A three-phase engagement, not a black box.

Most software shops disappear behind a contract and a Gantt chart. We don't. Every GannSystems engagement is one of three shapes — Discovery, Build, or Ongoing Partnership — and you always know which one you're in.

The three phases.

PHASE 01
Discovery

We start with a short, structured conversation — usually one or two calls — to understand the operation, the pain, and the constraints. You walk away with a written recommendation: what we'd build, in what order, what it would cost, and what could go wrong. Even if you don't hire us for the build, you keep the document.

PHASE 02
Build

Once scope is locked, we ship iteratively. You see work in progress — not just demos at the end. We use our own transparency platform internally to track every hour and surface what's been done, so you're never guessing whether a retainer is being well-spent. Most engagements land in weeks, not quarters.

PHASE 03
Ongoing Partnership

Software is never done. After launch, most clients move into a monthly retainer — bug fixes, small features, the next idea, security updates. You get a predictable monthly invoice and a calendar slot that's already yours. We're the long-term technical partner, not the disappearing consultant.

Transparency is the product.

We built our own time-tracking and proof-of-work platform — the same system you'd see if you became a retainer client — because every other agency relationship we'd been on the other side of was a black box. You get session logs, task descriptions, and screenshot timelines. You see exactly where the hours go.

  • Weekly status: what shipped, what's next, what's blocked.
  • Per-session activity logs with screenshots — you see the work, not just the invoice.
  • Monthly retainer dashboard showing hours used against your allocation.
